About The Build

The Peverill Crescent Townhouses is a three-storey development on a sloping site in Auckland, and required a structural wall system capable to carry the load, while remaining efficient to build.

Logicwall was specified for all structural walls on the project, including both intertenancy and exterior walls. The development uses a combination of the 162mm Logicwall profiles, providing the strength required for a multi-level build while simplifying construction compared to traditional wall system.

Staying In Control Of The Build

One of the key advantages for the developer and builder was the programme control. The onsite team was able to install Logicwall themselves, removing the need to rely on traditional trades such as blocklayers.

The builders were supported by the AFS installation team throughout the installation. This ensured confidence onsite and a smooth workflow, keeping the project moving without delays and reducing reliance on extra labour.

Efficiency & Performance

Logicwall meets the project’s structural, acoustic, and fire compliance without the need for extra strapping and lining. This saves time and costs at the finishing stages of the project. For this development, the Logicwall 162mm profile achieves an acoustic rating of 55 STC, and a fire rating of 240/240/240, meeting the demands of a three-storey, multi-residential build.

To meet the demands of thermal insulation for the exterior walls, the developer is using an exterior insulation system so the internal strapping and lining can be removed on the interior. This allows for more space inside, giving the developer larger units to sell.

Benefits of Logicwall:

  • Builders can install Logicwall themselves.
  • Structually load-bearing, acoustic and fire performance in one system.
  • Elimates for strapping and lining of the walls.
  • Easy and fast to install and well suited for multi-residential developments.
